Understanding the Digital Generation: The New Connections
This session, Understanding the Digital Generation will focus on the pervasive nature of digital culture that has and continues to change the brains of our students. As a result of these changes, students have developed learning styles and preferences which are in contrast to the traditional pedagogical approach.
The New Connections provide a clear description of 10 core learning attributes of digital learners, and a pragmatic look at how we can teach effectively in an age when new technologies cascade onto the new digital landscape at an astonishing rate. Authentic Assessment:
Why do we assess? Sound like a simple question, but answering it honestly changes everything, including how we assess and what we assess. With the shift to 21st learning, assessment must also transform to be relevent. In this session, we will discover how to align assessment with learning intention by getting authentic and being transparent will assessment.
